I have always taken for granted the beauty of our ocean and our world. I assumed it would always be here. I believed that my grandchildren would be able to see the wonders of our world that I have seen. But as more time goes by without any action to reduce the dangers of pollution and gas emissions, I fear my beliefs were misplaced or wrong. I fear that we have passed our inflection point, but still hope that we haven’t. Anne Frank wrote, “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” If our leaders won’t act, let’s be sure that we make changes that will improve our world.
