Silver Linings

Trying again. Enough said. No need to tempt fate. I never knew that Dad helped Mom with her photography, but here he is doing just that. He is still full of surprises even though he is gone now for over eight years. I never saw him helping Mom. I complained about it once, and she got this really sheepish look on her face, and said, “That’s my fault. He used to try and help around the house, but I told him not to. I felt that was my job and his was to provide for us.” When she got sick, he didn’t listen to her any longer and began doing the housework and even attempted cooking. Mom’s sickness was awful, but it helped me find my way back to a relationship with my father. We don’t always recognize the silver linings when we are experiencing our darkest days, but they are there.
